Kuwait International Model United Nations
Kuwait International Model United Nations (KIMUN) is the first international MUN conference held in Kuwait and is a completely student-run non-profit organization. Our mission is to foster global leaders and to create an environment for international students from around the globe to interact and share ideas on the world's pressing problems. The first ever KIMUN conference was held in 2016 and has continued annually since then.
We strive to promote critical thinking, diplomacy and political awareness of global issues in the youth today. We hope to inspire legions of future diplomats, activists, economists and educators to hone their leadership abilities and exercise their conflict resolution skills.
Participants aim to develop comprehensive strategies used to address questions of peace, security, development and human rights. Their joint efforts will instill in them a better understanding of socio-political and economic motivations and how they translate into either conflict or cooperation.
Alessandro is a senior from ASK. Over the years, he has accumulated experience preparing him for chairing our Environmental Commission this year. With a personality like his, Alessandro epitomizes what it means to establish middle ground by utilizing the youthful exuberance of his delegates while also enhancing their yearning for global issues. These are qualities we look forward to having him bring to KIMUN 2017's Environmental Commission.
A formidable delegate from ACA, Samer has elevated his position over the years. To top it off, he is chairing his position over the years. To top it off, he is chairing in in the KIMUN 2017 in the Special Commission. As a natural leader, he will undoubtedly work to aid and nurture inexperience delegates, while still mediating strong debates filled with both intellect and depth.
Chloe is an ASK senior that has chaired countless rigorous commissions over the course of her Model UN career. The professional, serious, and irrefutably seasoned chair will be chairing the Disarmament Committee this year.
A memorable name, Elaf is an ACA senior and well-known chair. She is kind and considerate, and a knowledgeable MUN veteran that knows the ins and outs of Model United Nations. She is the capable and responsible chair of Arab League for KIMUN 2017
Ahmed Hussain is a senior from KES that has only ever exemplified passion and professionalism. His excellence in research, his extensive knowledge, and his unparallelled debate mediation have gained him his well deserved spot for chairing KIMUN 2017. He will be chairing our Disarmament Committee
Fay is a diligent senior from ABS and has attended countless Model United Nations conferences over the years. Given her astounding reputation and the fact that she has been revered for her professionalism and reliability, one does not need to know Fay to know she will be diligent as the chair for Territorial Disputes. She looks forward to mediating a resourceful debate.
Also the Secretary-General of ACA's conference, Rawan is a senior whom is the personification of precision, formality, and professionalism. Pragmatic and knowledgeable, she is a chair revered for her ability to lead. She will be chairing Human Rights Council this year.
Zenon is an ASK senior and an orator with a strong and memorable presence. Having effectively stricken the balance between humor and formality, Zenon has accumulated a great deal of MUN experience at both local and international levels. Now being appointed as the chair of ECOSOC, he will undoubtedly utilize all the kills that have distinguished him among his peers to lead this commission known for its various technicalities.
Mohammad is a senior at ACA and is currently the Secretary-General of their respective conference. He has exemplified passion and expertise in chairing time and time again, with his personal favorite commission being Security Council. Needless to say, he looks forward to chairing the Security Council at KIMUN 2017.
Aysha is a Model United Nations veteran and senior at ASK who will be chairing the Commission on Science and Technology Development (CTSD). She has begun her Model United Nations career early on, starting as young as 6th grade. Experienced and capable, she has been ASK's previous Administrative Executive and has chaired countless times, with undeniable proficiency. It will be her pleasure to chair you at her final conference prior to graduation.
